Report: Jackson Tells Felton His Time With Knicks Is Up

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Raymond Felton once said he thought he was « better than any point guard. »

Well, he wasn’t all that great in 2013-14, and apparently New York Knicks president Phil Jackson isn’t interested in seeing if he’ll bounce back next season.

Felton was informed by Jackson during last month’s exit interviews that he’ll be traded this summer, according to SportsNet New York.

“Raymond has been told he will be moved this offseason,” a source told SNY.tv.

Felton, who helped lead the team to a 54-win season in 2012-13, is due nearly $9 million over the final two years of his deal, which includes a player option, SNY reported.

The 29-year-old was arrested on gun charges after a game in February.

Felton’s season was a rough one on the court, too. He recorded 9.7 points, 5.6 assists 3 rebounds, all below his career averages.
